Sister Marie Theresa Rischel inducted into Hall of Fame
Seton Catholic Preparatory, Chandler , Arizona, recognized the contributions of Sister Marie Theresa Rischel by inducting her into the high school’s Hall of Fame on October 30, 2016. The event was part of Reunion Weekend and was held in the Fine Arts Building on the school campus. Other inductees included alumni Nicole Hank ’96, Deb (Eubanks) Defreyn ’85 and Chris Gummel ’86. Sister Marie Theresa has been part of the Seton Catholic community for 17 years in three different time frames: early ‘70’s, the first half of the ‘80’s, and most recently since 2009. Currently, she provides tutoring services and steps in as substitute teacher as often as the need arises (a boon for the administrators!).
Seton Catholic Preparatory had its beginnings in 1954 when the school opened as Seton High School with Sister of Charity Mary Ronald Madden as principal. The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill have maintained a presence at the school since its founding. Seton Catholic Preparatory values the relationship with the congregation and offers a dual enrollment with Seton Hill University, Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Congratulations, Sister Marie Theresa, for continuing the Charity presence to a wide range of students, faculty, administration and staff! Your zest and your longstanding commitment to Catholic education in the West is an inspiration to the Chandler community and Setonians everywhere.
