Sister Claudia (Marie Bernadette) Stehle

Sister Claudia (Marie Bernadette) Stehle, SC, serves as the Business Manager of St. Regis Parish (Trafford, PA) where she provides administrative support to the Pastor in the areas of finances, plant and personnel management, communication, and public relations. Prior to entering this ministry in 1992, she served as an elementary school principal for five years in the dioceses of Pittsburgh and Greensburg. She also taught for 18 years at elementary schools in the dioceses of Pittsburgh, Greensburg, Tucson, and Phoenix.
“Living the vow of poverty as a Sister of Charity, we’re encouraged to be ‘wise stewards over the goods entrusted to our care,’” she says. “My position as Business Manager places me in situation where I can challenge others as to the use of parish funds in order to fulfill the Church’s mission. I see this as a way of living out Mother Seton’s advice to be children of the Church.”
Sister Claudia entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill on September 8, 1958, from Church of the Resurrection (Brookline, PA). She then served in the ministry of education, teaching at diocesan schools in Pittsburgh, Greensburg, and Arizona. She then served as principal at St. Paul Middle School (Greensburg, PA) for three years and Resurrection School (Pittsburgh, PA) for 11 years.
