Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill

Who We Are

Sister Harriet Seton Newton

Sister Harriet Seton Newton, SC, entered the Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill 50 years ago from her home parish of Holy Innocents in Sheraden.

After serving for nearly three decades as a primary grade school teacher, Sister Harriet began her ministry at Saint Joseph’s House of Hospitality where she spent the last 18 years.

“As I have lived these 50 years as a Religious woman, I have come to learn that the spiritual journey is short, the desire to connect with God grows more intense, and the actual measure of my success in my life is elusive to me and known only to God. But this I do know, the many Blessings I have received from God in my lifetime have been incalculable and I am truly thankful!"

Sister Harriet is an avid artist whose artwork was chosen to be the centerpiece of the Golden Jubilee’s program and prayer card.
