Who We Are

Sister Veronica Mary Szalajko

Sister Veronica Mary Szalajko, SC, said her “maternal grandmother and high school principal” influenced her decision to enter religious life. Sister Veronica Mary entered the Congregation on September 8, 1959, from Holy Family Parish in Pittsburgh.

For the past twenty years, Sister Veronica Mary has served as a clerical secretary at Oakland Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. Prior to working in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Sister Veronica Mary worked in the Diocese of Phoenix at Saint Theresa School in Phoenix for ten years.

“It was rewarding to see the excitement of learning in students during my years of teaching second grade and CCD classes when I prepared the children for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist,” said Sister Veronica Mary.
