Who We Are

Sister Jon Frances Vallade

Sister Jon Frances Vallade, SC, entered the Congregation on September 8, 1958, from the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament (Altoona, PA). Most recently, she served as Pastoral Secretary and CCD Coordinator at St. Rita Parish (Connellsville, PA), but is currently in transition to a new ministry.
“The past 50 years have passed so quickly and have been filled with God’s abundant blessings,” she says of this milestone. “Students, parents, and parishioners have blessed me and shared their dreams and sorrows. I have especially enjoyed every minute working and faith sharing with the students.”
Sister Jon Frances served 26 years as a principal in the dioceses of Greensburg and Steubenville. Her longest tenures were as principal of St. Francis School (Toronto, OH) for 10 years and of Holy Trinity Catholic School (Mt. Pleasant, PA) for six years. She also ministered for 21 years as a teacher in the dioceses of Greensburg and Altoona-Johnstown, including seven years at St. John the Baptist School (Scottdale, PA).
Sister Jon Frances graduated from Seton Hill University with a bachelor’s degree in English and education and Clarke College with a master’s degree as a reading specialist and clinician. She also is certified in Elementary Administration through Duquesne University.
