What we do

The Sisters of Charity of Seton Hill is an international, apostolic congregation of women religious. Our service is primarily in the areas education, health care, pastoral care, and social services.

At this writing, our sisters serve in a variety of ministries, including:

  1. 55 sisters who work in education, from early childhood to university, and with children who are deaf or hearing impaired;
  2. 15 sisters who work with social service agencies helping those who are homeless or mentally challenged, as well as unwed mothers, the elderly, and in outreach;
  3. 23 sisters who work as pastoral ministers in parishes and dioceses, providing faith formation;
  4. 12 sisters work in health care as hospital chaplains, in assisted living facilities, and in the field of home health care;
  5. 48 sisters work as administrators or liaisons in education, social services, health care, and faith formation.
  6. 88 sisters who are retired and living at Caritas Christi, our motherhouse.

Our sisters serve in four countries. In the United States, we serve in 11 states, 10 dioceses and four archdioceses. Yet we believe that through our collaboration with other organizations who share similar viewpoints and values, we can affect change both locally and globally.
